Well mediaplayer classic play's the .ogm fine...that's no suprise.
I have tried both avhil's and gabest's xa cd fitlers.
in BSPlayer and ZoomPlayer (both latest versions), the file opens, but then just locks up. it says 00:00 and just freeze's there.
i got 2 subdirectories and ~25 files i want in mode1. i add in the directories and all other files first, then the .ogm.
i do NOT check the single track option in mode2cdmaker (although i have tried it and same exact thing).
mediaplayer classic plays them fine, but since im using XviD Beta3 and the video flips, i have to use 3ivx. The colors wind up bleeding and the video looks horrible. So im stuck here.
Also how do i make the DirectVobSub tray icon display on ALL my movies? See if i play the .ogm from the hdd as it is from OggMux, the DirectVobSub icon does not appear down there in mpc...however if i play the .ogm off the XCD, the icon appears. Without that DirectVobSub i assume mpc cannot support my .srt subtitles ???
Again, the .ogm play fine from the hdd (besides the 3ivx color bleeding...but it plays in all media players i have).

first of all afaik mpc has an inbuilt xcd and ogm and vobsub filter, it doesnt uses some extra ones by default
you talk about mode1, xcd is mode2 form2
afaik the xvid decoder offers a flip video option
the bleeding only happens with 3ivx?
also try other decoders like ffdshow or divx5

yeh im sorry about that, i mean by mode1 files that are not targeted for the xa header. like .exe's or .txt's. Sorry mode1 is incorrect, they are mode2 files none the less.
ffdshow skips horribly, divx5 makes it blur/streak really bad.
i have a xcd with a .ogm on that decodes with 3ivx fine..however it is not xvid beta 3 (think its .9x).
im restarting everything over from scratch now... .ogm is giving me a headache, im going to switch to .mkv. However, it might not work with xcd either...will see shortly.
Is there anyway to make DirectVobSub popup on all movies played regardless of having subtitles or not?
One last thing i must mention about the upside down xvid file, i that i used vdubmod to join 2 xvid files together. A 1min clip and a 55min clip. Neither clip, by themselve's are upside down. The joined file though is upside down...but only the intro. After the intro goes past it goes back to normal as if something in vdubmod forgot to fix a header or something when it joined them.

how did you create the ogm file? try another tool too (like oggmux, virtualdubmod aso...)

Join the files and save the result into an avi - does it still show up upside down for one of both pieces?
The container can't do anything about it then.
If it works correctly, you can mux that into ogm and see if it still works correctly, if not, you found a bug :-)

What for? Because im not sure why it pops up sometimes and when it dont :-). Again, playing .ogm's off the hdd it doesnt pop up, but if i play that same ogm off xcd in mpc (and mpc only right now), it does.
i have tried OgMux (OggMux), OggMux 0.9.5, and vdubmod 1.5.1.1a...all give the same result's as far as muxing the .ogm. Results are no XCD playback.
How i joined the files in vdubmod (1.5.1.1.a) was in 2 elementary XviD .avi's, intro.avi + movie.avi == final.avi. It's the final.avi that is playing upside for the duration of the intro.avi inside it...then flipping back for the duration of movie.avi inside it. After trying it a few more times i think that is a vdubmod bug or XviD...because i have just realized that the final.avi outside the .ogm even plays like this. So it's not a .ogm problem. However, i have tried just the intro.avi inside a .ogm with a .ogg audio stream, and it still freeze's out of a XCD image (tried mounting and burning).
So video flipping caused by XviD i think...
XCD not playing my .ogm caused by ?? still dont know.
i like media player classic, but if that is all that can actually play these file's back on windows, should i just say forget OGM and go to Matroska?
p.s. sorry for the confusion on the video flipping part, i thought it was only like that out of a .ogm, but its like that period. i just been using media player classic for the .avi playback.

ooooookkkkkk...well i just encoded the intro and movie as one file (all .vobs in dvd2avi), and the final.avi plays fine by itself, but when muxed into a .ogm now the whole thing plays upside down. i guess the whole thing plays upside down because i didnt need to joint .avi's???
Anyways, any info would be appreciated. if not that is cool too. i just tried all the same streams as before (the joined .avi's) in matroska and its playing fine in all my players...plays like it should. So i think im going to stay away from .ogm for awhile. (i still think XviD is the culprit though)

spamming my own thread, but i fixed the flipping issue.
you know that final.avi that was joined, where the intro.avi duration was playing flipped but the movie.avi wasnt (mentioned above), i just took a solid iframe and put it in front. Now it plays fine.
Still, the XCD issue continues.
