hello all,

does anybody knows how to mux .srt or .sub subtitles on an .avi divx movie.

i tried Submux, added the .avi file, the .srt file, it creates an .avi file, but still no subtitles...

my original subtitle files are in .sub format..

I want to create .avi files with embedded subtitles to play into my divx player..

thank you very much in advance,

George

Avi can't hold extra subtitlestreams, you can only burn the text into the picture. This is only possible with a new encode.
But you can try VDMod und save your Video as an ogm or mkv. These newer containers are able to integrate a .srt sub and made it switchable.

Have a look at this guide : http://www.divxland.org/permanentsubtitling.htm

Hopefully, it's what you are looking for.

I was going to use this guide but when I open my subs in Subtitle Workshop it tells me they are invalid. Any way around this?
Thanks
