View Full Version : bbMPEG error at end of AVI2DVD process

for the past two AVI2DVD conversions I've done, I've received a similar error from bbMPEG. AVI2DVD deals with the audio and video encoding fine (using MADPlay, BeSweet and TMPGEnc) but at the final stage (where bbMPEG comes into play) I get an error similar to this...

"Could not find User Data at I-frame 5172 in file d:\captures&rips\conversion\bbmpeg_muxed_file00.mpg"

This occurs after the audio and video have been muxed, so I'm not too sure what bbMPEG is actually doing, but I'm sure it's not a good thing, and am hoping that someone can shed some more light on this issue.

here's some more info...

the original .avi is a 640x352 23.97fps XviD video with MP3 audio. I loaded it into AVI2DVD and used the setting to convert from NTSC to PAL, resulting in a 720x576 MPEG2 file.

and here's the bbMPEG log up until the error (which is shown above in quotes)...

...so the error occurs during the calculation of "5173 SVCD user data scan offsets" - whatever that means?

can anyone help explain to me what is going on?

thanks very much.

The problem is only with Tmpegenc. BBmpeg does not like it. You have 2 choices:
1.Use CCE.
2. You can ignore the error message. the files have been created and they are OK.

I can remember, when I had this problem, I changed to CCE.

great - thanks for the info.

I think I'll go with option 2.
