I thought about the April fool's thing...maybe someone should email him? Would not be a good joke as it is not that surprising.

Now a good April Fools day joke would be the continued development of DVDShrink

Hey, I think this joke wasn't too bad. Why should buy Ahead a tool which uses the Ahead own NeroAPI? But it's great that someone believed this *fg*.

Sorry for the gag but the first of April is only once a year ;) !

At least you didn't fake getting sued by the MPAA. Several sites did that, which means not only is it unfunny, it is unoriginal.

The biggest April fools prank of the day had to be the Howard Stern show. For the first hour and 20 minutes they reported that the show had been cancelled due to fear of goverment fines and replaced it with a cheesy top 40 show.

I also like this joke (http://www.ugo.com/channels/dvd/features/starwarstrilogy/), the leaked George Lucas OT commentaries.

The fact that it has been relatively silent since the first series of C&D letters and a handful of court cases surrounding DeCSS doesn't mean we have a free pass to do whatever we like. From that perspective, I'm actually glad P2P networks are getting all the attention, even though I obviously don't agree how the media conglomerates are handling that issue.

Exactly, it's not funny because it has the all to real possibility of happening. Now it would have been funny if the sites had included a tipoff, like saying they were being busted for illegally distributing smurf porn or something. But to post a very real looking C&D document, or to replace a site with an exact copy of the site the DOJ used when they took over ISONews's website. That isn't very funny.
