Check out this (http://users.pandora.be/elfjuli/xvid.avi) file.
It's a small clip from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
If you watch it you will see that the camera pans up slowly.
This is my problem: when I view this clip on my computer,
instead of a smooth panning motion, I see a jerky image while the camera pans. The image seems to move in quite large 'hops'.
It looks as if the framerate drops to 4 fps or smth...
This is what I know: When I encode the clip with divx, I don't have this problem, it only happens when I encode it with xvid.
However, the problem isn't caused during the encoding process,
because the clip plays smoothly on my friend's computer.
I tried de-installing ffdshow. This caused the divx decoder to be used for playback instead. The problem was still there.
Conclusion: The problem is neither in the encoding process, nor in ffdshow.
If i had a slower computer I'd put the blame there,
but my system is a Intel 1.8 Ghz Pentium 4,
so that shouldn't be the problem.
Also, why would divx have no problem then?
I'm quite desperate here. I don't have a clue what's causing this,
and I find it VERY annoying.
Please help me! I'll be forever in your debt!
