I ordered this (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=24-116-200&depa=0) (newegg.com) a week ago, but two days ago FedEx delivered this (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=24-116-225&depa=0) (newegg again), with the barcode/identity label for the wrong monitor stuck to the package!
A friend employed by Newegg says this happens so infrequently it's never caught. So, should I return it or...? Let's here your ideas!
/edit: Check it out here (http://www.tc.umn.edu/~frye0031/cheap%20monitor.jpg). That's a (US) men's size 10 shoe on top of it, to give you an idea of how stinkin' huge it is in real life!

You've broke the 1st law already! tell no-one.
Personally I'd keep it as it's a large company and they'll probably not miss the loss.
To counter this though I once found a laptop and returned it to the owner as it was a big loss to him.
Intersting dilemma though you should have started a poll.

depend on your morals, it would be insured, so they will replace for other person, but your still responsible for returning an incorrect shipment. the insurers could snoop around also and find it, that would be bad.

you should keep it; i'm not saying it's their fault, you waited a week for your new monitor, why should you waste your money sending it back (unless they will reimburse you) and any more time waiting for the monitor you order to come.
unless they will come directly to your house and exchange it for the right one, don't give it a second thought; cause, why should you waste you time fixing there mistakes.

I once ordered a PC and received *THREE* of them at about four day intervals. I let the extra two sit for about three and a half months in their boxes. Kept 'em. It was my justification for receiving crappy service; it took me over a month to get the one i ordered and the customer service was terrible. i figured, hey, if their crappy service effects ME, why should't i let their same crappy service effect them?
Still wrong in my book, but hey, i can't do EVERYTHING right.....

God, the TV in my room is 13" and that sucked is 23.1"! That's sick man, I order all the parts when I built this computer, but unfortunately they didn't throw in an extra CPU or hard drive :( I guess it's the luck of the Polish (or lack thereof).

The law varies from place to place of course, but the general rule in the USA is if a dealer makes an error in YOUR favor, he has to live with it. If he makes an error in HIS favor and you bring it to their attention, they must make good on it or risk being fined.
E.G., if you go to the store and get a $20 turkey and it rings up at $1.50, they HAVE to honor it. However, if it rings up at $30, they have to honor the marked price.
Your case seems no different.

if you go to the store and get a $20 turkey and it rings up at $1.50, they HAVE to honor it. It's just like this in Germany - if a shop owner accidentally tags a 2300€ monitor with a 10€ price tag, he must give it to you for 10€ :-) (never happened to me yet, damn...)
I think it's absolutely no risk to keep it and wait if they even realize their mistake. As soon as they realize their mistake (if they do) they can try to change it back, but they can't blame you (what if you just were computer-illiterate and didn't know the difference between a 17" monitor and a 23" LCD *g*)
