Hi

Is there any programs or methods that can compress the extras, and leave the Main Movie original, besides DVDShrink and IC ?

Why to look somewhere else when you have DVD Shrink ? You can use all or the most of the existing programs to process extras only. But people here are more looking after movie compression.

I doubt there will really be much of a push for programers to develope a "compress-only-the-extras" program, since most Hollywood DVD movies still wind up larger than 4.36 Gigs, even after stripping. If you run across a movie that only needs shrunk down slightly, your best bet is to meerly strip out the stuff you don't use first... and if it still doesn't fit, you can use a program like DVD Shrink to reduce the size of the extras (selecting "no compression" for the main movie).

I tend to do all of my backups as "movie-only." Having said that, I'll also say that VERY few of those "movie-only" backups didn't need some sort of processing to further reduce their size in order to fit a DVD+R. That's without my wanting to still squeeze extras onto the disk with it.

My own conclusion, then (for what it's worth) is that it's not really all that practical to have a program DESIGNED to leave the main movie alone while only reducing the size of the extras.

You may well be better off simply sticking to DVD Shrink, if that's what you're using now.

Djan:
I do use Shrink, I just simply want to compress the extras more than it is possible in Shrink - what I wana do is:

1)Rip with DVDStrippet - remove unwanted stuff

2)Compress the extras with some tool (thats what i need)

3)Compress the extras again, and remove unwanted audio/subs. with Shrink.

4)Compress the rest of the dvd (movie and extras) with InterVideo DVDCopy to make it fit.

Burn!

writersblock:
I dont mean a program that "Only" compresses the extras, just a program that have the ability to leave the main movie untouched, line IC and Shrink have, so that I can use another program for the main movie.

You want to compress the extras more than "still pictures"? If so why not just take them all the way off?

If so why not just take them all the way off? Well, for most purposes, it's better to replace with blanks than just "completely" removing titles. This way your DVD structure is intact. ;)

Well, I only use "Still movie" if the pictures dosent realy matter (like interviews with just a person talking) - I like extras in bad quality rather than "Still movie". So if Shrink had the abbility to compress the extras as much as "Still movie" - and it didnt make it look lige a slide show, but just a bad quality movie - that would be perfect. - Thats why I think it would be a solution to compress the extras with another program first, and then compress again with shrink at custom...
