Hi All,

I would like to know how to reset a DVD analysis in DVDShrink? My problem is that the DVD I tried to backup ran the analysis up to 54% then I get this error:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to read file "E:\"
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

Everytime I try to re-analyse the disc it starts at 54% and I get the same error. Even after re-booting and trying to read the disc from another drive.

PS. This is my first post but I ran a search beforehand so I hope this isn't a duplicate question.

Thanks,
Slate.

Welcome to the forum! :D

Go to ...

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DVD Shrink

Don't know which one you should delete in question but delete all anyways. ;) Start DVD Shrink again.

By the way, what is this thread have to do with decrypting/ripping problems?

2COOL - Thank you very much! I have been searching everywhere and couldn't figure out where it stored that data.

I thought this fit in the decrypting/ripping category since its related to the software. If I'm wrong and this post is a problem then - mods please move.

thanks,
Slate.

Your ripping/decrypting so it should be fine for your comments to be put here. I have had the same problems. Some were fixed with dvd decrypter. Do you have two dvd drives, one player and one burner? If you do then try this, analyze the movie in the burner instead of the player.

tmallery,

Thanks for the reply. Although this problem has persisted for a while now (been trying to rip a certain disc for a few weeks) it is still happening. I have tried ripping with both DVD drives in my desktop and the one in my laptop - no go.

The weird this is the disc doesn't look scratched or damaged at all.

What is the movie?
What software are you trying to complete this task with?
