Everytime I start it the make my settings all ready.... I hit the back up button and it freezes my whole computer up. I can't do anything. I have to restart. I have already tried to install another version and down version it to a previous version and it does the same thing.

download the ultimate boot cd 2.2.1 and run a couple of the memory tests on it and see if it passes. Also run that cpu-burn in from within windows.

I think mrbass is sugesting that xzibit3180's problem could be a hardware problem, and the programs he suguests using might locate such a problem. And yes to a certain extent burning in your memory and cpu can 'stabalize'your system.

next version of ultimate boot cd will have cpu burn-in and maybe...just maybe prime95 too. That'll be a must have free cd for all those with system instabilities.

1. do you get a lock-up right away or a few minutes into the shrink process? if it's a delayed lock-up, you might want to check the seat of your heatsink (clean up and re-apply artic silver - if that's what you used ;).

2. i can't see what OS you are using.

3. are you using any virtual drives?

4. you have 2 80 gig hdd's: are they in raid-0? raid-1? maybe trouble with the raid manager? i'm using raid-1 and had some driver issues with seemed to have been resolved with the newer drivers.

5. if nothing works, re-install the OS... :(

6. i hope you were testing your system NOT overclocked ;).

Have the same problem - only when running dvd decrypter at same time of shrink.

Close decrypter first!
