1.0 by end of month?

Just wondering if you're expecting 1.0 by end of month. I'm quite eager to see syskin start work on his HSV metrics, among other things, and I suspect he'll soon go insane if he isn't aloud to break things again :P

as much as id love to see it i think you'll find the answer will be "1.0 will be released when its ready". i cant wait to see it myself too, those new features already sound delicious.

good job xvid guys, its amazing how a free non-adware program can be better then one that installs gain on your computer :p

Can i ask a really dumb question here?
This seems the most appropriate place.

After 1.0 is out, what will happen with develoment?

Will all the developers disband?

Will the developers work on tweaking it?

Will the developers get hired by microturd or something?

Or would we see an Xvid 1.264 if you catch my drift?

I know in a year or so 2 other 'prominent' developers will have theirs up and running (you know which 2 right?) so in the MPEG 4 wars you gotta always be on your guard right? but that's thinking too far AHEAD i guess :p (pun intended)

XviD 1.1 tree has been created a couple of days ago. There's nothing there yet, but you just wait.

There was this problem I think for poor efficiency during encoding of dark scenes, will this be fixed in 1.0 or in future releases?

jk, syskin stated once before that his new hvs(?) models will allow him to experiment with such things and many more. but we wont see that until 1.1

and can you tell me how to download new code from new cvs branch, my cvs knowledge sometimes is rather bad, and now i don't remeber how to select a new branch =(
