View Full Version : Flashing vertical line in 2-pass encode

Hello,

I'm trying to make 2-pass XviD encode of a movie and I'm getting a flashing vertical white line, or rather a collection of white dots arranged along a line, at the right hand side of the picture (example (http://rotfl.neostrada.pl/flashing.avi), very slow server).
Apparently these dots are added in the second pass, since they are absent in a 1-pass encode as well as in the first pass of a 2-pass encode.

I'm very sorry if this problem was posted before, but I didn't manage to find anything like that here.

Are you using avisync ?
Then it is seems to be avisync crop filter bug.
You must crop to mod4 resoution, in other case white line may appear.

Doh!
I forgot to select 'Smart Crop All' in GK. Thank you very much.
BTW, you said it was a bug. Is it something that can and will be fixed?

The bug is in your source.

So why should or could _we_ fix something about it?

*scratching my head*

I specifically asked that question because Andrey called it an 'avisync crop filter bug' (I assumed he meant AviSynth). If he'd only said, 'crop your source to mod-4 resolution, stupid', I would've done just that and asked no questions.
