Hello,
Well I got my card and all is going well. I captured around a half hour of VHS and used the Huffyuv codec in 640x480 to capture with.
After trying very many combinations of filters I came out with these Vdub settings which seem to give the best picture.
Deinterlace
resize to 480x480
divx pro strong corrections slowest speed
direct draw enabled
When I was done i had around a 800mb size file!!! I do not like the 380 or 320 resize setting as my ati card makes alot of little squares at that level. What can I do to shrink the file size and still retain the resolution? Capture at 512 or 546 x 480?
Would using inverse telecine shrink the file size?
I tried mpeg 4 capture but there are tons of shitty looking blotches running around the screen. Mpeg2 any better? Please give me a address for MPEG2 and ivtc filters. Any info appreciated.
Maybe its just time to get a dvd burner.
Thanks!!!
