I don't know what I did but I can longer play any videos in Media Player Classic (or even Media Player). Only WMP works.

When I try to play a file MPC will open/enlarge itself to a full screened window and then quickly close (or freeze if I do a manual open).

I think this started after I renamed mplayerc.exe to mplayer2.exe and then windows tried to replace it with it's version. But after clearing out all gabtest registry settings and using a new mplayerc.exe it still doesn't work now. I am using the newest Media Player C 6.4.7.9 version btw.

Perhaps installing Nero 6.3.0.2 has messed something up? I installed that today as well as the newest FFDShow today or yesterday.

I am using WinXP + SP1, 2.4ghz P4, 1gb ram, Ati Radeon 9500 Pro. Problem occurs with ALL video filetypes. Audio files work fine.

Update: My PowerDVD 5.0 doesn't work either! So something has messed up video playback for my whole system? I think it is Nero.

UN-Install FFDShow & report back!

It worked. Now I have to figure out if some setting was messing it up or if ffdshow-20040312.exe has a bug?

Thanks.

Is there a comprehensive guide for FFDShow that explains all the options?
