Hi.
I have a DVD, the audio stream I need (german) is only DTS. I'm not able to play DTS streams, I don't have the equipment. There is no sound when playing the german audio stream. The second audio stream (english) is Dolby Digital and works very well. How can I convert the DTS stream to "normal" Dolby Sourround or Stereo? And, more important, how can I insert this converted stream back into the DVD?
Plese help me!

hi,
i think kpex will probabely help u more but i think a working solution is to use azidts (u need a registered version of windvd > v4.5) to convert .dts in 6 channels .wav file and use a software to convert this .wav in .ac3 (besweet can do it but u need an old version because ac3 encoding have been removing in the latest version due to some issues.
i hope my answer could help u.

You can do this conversion from dts to stereo wav with the latest dtsdec 0.0.2. It should be on rarewares.org soon. Then you can convert to ac3 like the Dark-Cracker said. Tell then link removed instructions are in the readme.txt.
EDIT: It is on rarewares now.

Hi.
I downloaded azidts and besweet with the current Gordian Knot package. I do not have WinDVD. Is it possible to use PowerDVD?
How can I put the created AC3 file back into the DVD?
Thank you for your help.

Sounds like you have the Superbit version of Das Boot.
If so, just go out and hire the normal version with the german DD soundtrack and rip it off, then add it to the version you have. Basicaly the superbits are the same as the normal disk, just DTS main language track (Which Das Boot was) (and Crouching Tiger Superbit is DTS Manderin), with increased video resolution.
Of course I could be wrong about this assumption of owned disk, so flame me all you want.

I don't want to install WinDVD. Is iviaudio.ax enough?

Hi, i am trying to do the same thing, and im using BeHappy to convert the files, but becase the DTS file is somewhat 'unstable' and after it gets converted to an AC3 or Dolby Digital, the sound gradually becomes completely out of sync when it is recomplied with a video file for a DVD.
i am planning to seperate the channels of the DTS and put ti back together into an AC3 file. Can anyone help me on this?

If you have BeHappy you can obtain 6 monowav's using WavSplit '[4] Destination'.
But maybe the problem is the 'unestable' DTS. Try fix it with DelayCut if there are problems at least you can know where, reading the log file.

Yeah your probably right as i tested the DTS file myself and found the same thing as well, that it gradually goes out of sync as well.
by that, it starts well with the syncing, then when i would fast forward it through the film i see it becomes a problem. strange. and there's no cut or audio skip i believe.
