Hi

New to this forum I salute all.
I have splited the YES symphonic live DVD with ifoedit because I think that the dts sound deserves to be preserved, the question is that the dvd plays well on DVDplay of ifoedit and on windvd also, but on the standalone only plays the legal warning and the intro, which are in vts 2, and when it comes to the dvd menu it stops.
When I burned it, nero gave me the message "fail to reallocate video files, the dvd may not play on a standalone player" so, I had to burn it as an iso/udf and manually create the audio ts and video ts folders.
I've downloaded dvdremake which gives this message when importing the dvd: "recovering incorrect tables" but the I cannot export the dvd because it is the demo.
This dvd of a yes concert has 2 titles
Here is the original video_ts.ifo

The menu has 14 songs (14 chapters) divided in two sets of 7 songs each.
there is another menu for the animations (2º angle) and for the Icon.
These animations (second angle) only are available at the beginning and at the end of some chapters. A icon is displayed on the screen to inform when the animations are viewable. this icon also can be disabled on this second menu.
Since I have done everything well and the dvd plays well on the pc I would like to know if there is a way to find out where the problem is? Is there some software that can analyze and report back where the problem is? or better, if I buy this dvdremake will this software correct the problem? This ifoedit tool is quite fantastic if it wasn't for this issue, so if there were another program that could point the way to correct this problem, it would be great.

Any help is appreciated because I prefer to have full quality, even with two dvds, specially when dts sound and a music dvd are involved. Also would like to learn how to make a real total copy of the dvd with all the menus too without any cuts. Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

So you splitted your DVD but which disk is giving you problems? What files did you have in your original DVD? Did you copy your menus across to your second disc folder?

Well, DvdReMake will for sure correct many problems it finds while importing DVD. But it does not mean that it will make a playable DVD out of anything you will try to import. Say you processed dvd with some other software and it produced some bad fields in vob files.

There is no way DvdReMake can distinguish whether it was intentionally authored like this or it is an error introduced by processing software.

It is assumed that you start with correctly authored disk. All modifications you do to the disk in the DvdReMake will just keep it valid (unless you change navigation commands to something bogus).

DvdReMake should treat multi angle disks correctly. Although it may have problems with multi angle movies when angles are "linked in DSI" - I just had no chance of actually testing this. But it looks like one have to look hard to find such disk. There was a problem reported with interleaved cells in 1.0.1, but it is fixed in 1.1

Thank you for the reply

Disk one is giving me the problem, however I suppose that disk two also ( I did not burned it yet because it gives me the same warning as disk one on nero). however I must say that disk one (and disk two) plays perfectly on the PC with winDVD and with DVDplay (except for the warning message that I display at the bottom), all the menus work, the angles, the icon, even when selecting the songs that are on disk 2 on the disk one menu, it jumps to the last song of disk one and vice-versa.

The only files that i did copy were:
VTS_02_0.BUP 12288
VTS_02_0.IFO 12288
VTS_02_1.VOB 7325696

which correspond to title 2 (legal warning and the small intro with the brand of the producer). However I did select the " autocopy menu files to destination" option from ifoedit v0.95.
besides, all the menus work on the perfection on the winDVD software, which means that menus are there I think?

opening VTS_01 with menu edit shows that root menu (main menu)is on
vob ID: 1, cell ID: 1(4 buttons)
songs menu are in vob ID:2, cell id:2 (9 buttons)
and in vob ID:3 cell ID:2 (9 buttons)
Angles (animations) are in vob ID: 8, cell ID: 1 ( 5 buttons) this is a red menu with the icon, (the icon appears when the angles are available) I suppose that this is where the icon is stored.
This menu has 5 buttons two for enabling and disabling the angles and two to sect to display or not the icon ,another for main menu.
There is another menu for the sound in vob ID:9, cell ID: 1 (4 Buttons)

Another last thing:
When I press the DVDplay button on either ifo's (even on the original decrypted before Ifoedit) I get This message:
"Warning:
*1 out of 3 DVD-Video streams failed to render properly subpicture stream
*The video decoder doesn't produce close caption data
do you still want to continue?"
does this mean anything of interest?

Thank you for yor reply!
The reason I asked this is because when I open the original decrypetd video_ts dvdremake opens it right away, but when I open the splitted with ifoedit video ts DVDreamke gives me that recovering incorrect tables message and takes some time opening the file.
The only thing that I have done is to split the dvd with ifoedit

How can I find out if this YES DVD has this "DSI links" or if there are interleaved cells on it?
Iam just curious to know where the problem is!

I find it strange that your VOB files after splitting are around 681 MBs. Normally, IfoEdit sets it to about 1 GB if you didn't change your default VOB Size option in VOB Extras. Besides that, it looks like a normal split.

Another last thing:

does this mean anything of interest? Normally, you get this if you have another program open at the same time accessing your codecs. Use IfoEdit 0.96 to get your Filters for DirectX when clicking on DVD Play. I've had problems with IfoEdit with using Elecard codecs. Too much codecs can give you problems. Ideally for me, IfoEdit works fine with using PowerDVD XP's codecs.
