Hi group,
I dont know where to ask the question or if
you can help but here goes,Just purchased a DVD player (stand alone)for my theatre system. The sales man
in the States advised that it was zoned region 4 which I had no problem with
,as I knew that on backing up the regions were disabled. This is my problem
,the Sony plays only NTSC ,not PAL ,every thing here in AUS is PAL ,,is
there a easy method to covert PAL to NTSC,
Currently I just rip and DVD shrink.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

There is no easy way, it always takes a long time and you have to do things manually. But it's possible.

If i where you, i would buy a DVD Player that's capable of displaying PAL Video.

If you want to know, how to convert at least the main movie from PAL to NTSC, here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=67924) is the way i always do it.

But as i said, it takes time, you need to buy software, but the result is very good.

dude, just purchase a el cheapo DVD player, that can play everything under the sun, NTSC,PAL,Multi-Region,DVD,SVCD,CVD,XSVCD,XVCD,etc.

you can even get really cheap ones that have Component Output, which is really handy if you are using it for home theatre use.

go to Strathfield, JB HI-FI, or DEC.
