Problem with encoded video.

Hi everybody. I recently encoded a few AVI (divx 5.02) and realized afterward when I reload them into Vdub. I can scroll from keyframe to keyframe but no input/output image. Also, I tried re-encoding the already encoded avi and ended up with the first frame for the entire movie. I tried extracting pictures. I set the frame decimation to 300 for a frame every 10 sec and all I got was the 300th frame in all of my pics. Does anybody know why this happens and what is the cause of such a problem. I would post the settings used to encode the movie but I fear that it isn't the problem. I used the same setting on other movies and they came out okay.
