Hi,
I am using CVS compiles of XviD and MPlayer.
Encoding xvid with mencoder under linux I have encountered a problem on some movies. During the first pass the stats file will be created and written to but at the end of the first pass the file will be created again and I will end up with an empty or almost empty stats file.
The problem was mentioned on the Mplayer-Users mailing list along with a solution. I can verify that using the command line parameter "-vc ffmpeg12" does fix the problem.
I mention this here to bring it to the attention of the XviD devs because I assume it is not a mencoder problem as encoding the same movies with Libavcodec does not suffer from this problem.
