View Full Version : AVI Type (1 or 2) - what does virtualdubmod actually produce?

Hi,
Have a quick question. It 'appears' to me that virtualdubmod (used as part of gordian knot - v 1.5.10.1) should produce a Type 1 AVI file (which I need) yet it appears to be producing a Type 2 file (difficult to tell other than the resulting files fail to play in a type 1 only player).

Can anyone give me the lowdown on this please and is there a type 2 to type 1 conversion tool anywhere?

For a brief description of AVI types see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...ype2dvfiles.asp

Thanks in advance,

Laffer.

You need info on DV types, *not* avi types. VirtualDub & VDmod, which use VfW, only work with type-2. Take a look at the DV FAQ here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30495) at the DV forum.

Ulead has a converter here (http://www.ulead.com/download/dvconverter/download.htm)

Take a look at the other sticky threads at the DV forum here at doom9 (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=59)
