sorry to drop in here but i don't know xactly where/whom to address this prob. i'm sure there are many pp here having much more xperience with muxing than me. so ...
a hw player (Philips DVD 737) produces desynch prob if the avi is muxed with audio having tag "split:no" (reported by gspot221). the playback is in synch at the start but goes desynch even at a simple 'pause'. if this tag is "split:yes" there's no prob, the file is seekable, (re)windable, ...
my quests are :
- what does this tag xactly mean ?
- how to mux such avis ? (i haven't find an option like this in any muxing prog)
- if an avi is muxed with "split:no" how to remux to 'yes' form ?

i'm just transporting the prob from our doom9 forum, so that's all i know about it. if y'd like to know more, pls, ask. any help, answer, link, ... would be highly appreciated.

btw, where can i find definitions for such terms like 'interleave', 'split', 'skew', ... so the terms seen on muxing.

many thx
y
