hi
i capture 384x576 and make vertical reduction to 384x288. the result is enough for me. but i can't save the vertical reduction setting and every time i capture i have to tick it before hitting f6. is there a way to save this setting?

Hi imenjak :)

Sure it can be saved - F10 and check all fields with 'Save...', OK.

Why to use vertical reduction at all? Just set the resolution to 352x288, and then do as mr Putnik suggested. It will work then.

If you do that one field will be dropped. Vertical reduction uses info from both fields.

Not exactly - pera suggested that, not ppera2. Vertical reduction offers significantly better picture.

No, I just said to do the F10 and stuff like you suggested. The less resolution was my idea. Also I don't think that you gain so much if you do vertical reduction. You do get better quality if the source is static, but if the source is a high-motion video, mixing up the fields will lead to blurry (ghosted) images. Also you'll gain some CPU cycles if you use the lower source resolution, that gain may be used to achieve better compression quality. Offcourse if the source is noisy (VTR or something like that), then the suggested way would be to capture 768x576 and to scale that down to 384x288.
