Hi I have been using the Big three for more then 8 months now, and the quality has always been pretty good. Before that I was doing my backups on Dvix (Xvid) and SVCD.

I am trying to backup my 24 Season 2 DVDS, to DVDr (I did season 1 on SVCD last year). I am having a problem when the final DVD is produced, that only the final episode on each disk will play when selected from the menu (this happens when I press each episode or when I press play all). I have looked at the vob files and all the video for the episodes seem to be there, and there were no errors in ifo update that I could see.

I have performed a search on "episode", and it was of no help, I can't search for "24".

Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Oh and I am in Region 4 with PAL dvds.

sounds like an issue with re-authoring a title with re-used vobids - single episode play/play all.

the latest builds of DIF4U detects duplicate pgcs and deselects them for you. this means that you are not re-encoding video that is not required. the down side is that you must perform some manual re-authoring in scenarist to recreate these deselected pgcs.

for a detailed guide on how to re-author such titles please have a look at this guide:
The Big3 Way to Finding Nemo R1 (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/Eyes_Duplicate_PGC_Guide_to_Finding_Nemo.htm)
in particular this section:
"Recreating the PGC to the Original IFO Structure - Duplicate PGCs Method #2 - The Other White Meat"

it also sounds like RA may have used the dummy tracks for the indivual episode pgcs AND in the play all pgcs in the scenario editor (as neither individual nor play all functions work on your back-up), which you can easily check in the scenario editor by highlighting each pgc and checking its attributes.

hope that helps

Ok I have just given ScenAid 0.9.0.5 a try and it fixed my problem! I can say without reservation that ScenAid Rocks!
