Hi!

Considering that I never have tried Scenarist before, what would be the easiest solution to convert at DVD9 to at DVD5 - using CCE or similar, because the quality from e.g. Nero Recode, DVDShrink etc are consider to poor ?
I've taken a look at the guide with ReAuthorist - but I'm not aware whether this one gives me the ability to make a complete copy - including the menus etc. Another issue is that parts of the menu seems to be made in 4:3 while the movie-part(s) are done in 16:9 - will this be handled correctly ?

I'm simply asking just to get more basic knowledge about scenarist and the procedures using CCE - because I need a little more detailed information on how to use scenarist to rebuild the entire DVD structure - including menus (but maybe omitting different parts, eg. still-pictures with certain "texts" ;-))

Regards,

Rduck

using DIf4U > DoCCE4U/BatchCCE > ReAuthorist/Scenaid will result in a full back-up of your DVD9 to DVD5.
menus by default are not touched. you can however use NuMenu4U to automate the re-encoding of the menus using CCE to reduce their size.
removal of extras/warnings etc are not part of the 'big 3' process but information for this can be found in the ifo/vob editors forum.
as for the title of your post as to the easiest method? it depends on your definition. the tools used have progressed to a stage where they handle all the tedious work involved but some knowledge of their use (particularly as far as scenarist is concerned) is not only recommended but IMO, mandatory, as without this knowledge you will be unable to handle the idiosyncrasies of the many DVDs available.
there are however many excellent guides available to expand your knowledge and dedicated forum members to help you if you run into unexpected troubles.
hope that helps

if you don't get any Error, then the project be build fine.

Yes, this is normal. I believe I read that these come from subpictures crossing over chapter points (or something to that effect). Unless Scenarist gives a you a "DVD Mux failed" error (the whole process stops in this case), you should be fine.
