View Full Version : DTS error in new big 3

I use the new big three (DoItFast4U v1.4.6 --> BatchCCEWS --> ScenAid). Somewhere in this process a DTS audio file that is supposed to be over 2 hours long gets shortened to 9 mins and some odd seconds. The file is still over 600 megs big. I looked in the SCP file that was created and and noticed that there was no end time for the that audio stream, so I copied the end time for the other audio streams to the DTS part. I then created a new Scenarist project with the modified SCP file, but Scenarist still gave me the same warnings as before about the bitrate being changed and the time, and only the first 9 mins and some odd seconds was playable. The DVD is a straight forward DVD with only one extra, one subtitle track, and three audio tracks.

Just for reference, I have tried it with ReAuthorist, but still turned out the same.

Thanks

Oops! I forgot to post the question.

How can I fix this error. Do I need to manually rip the audio track from the VOBs, and if so, how? I tried DVDDecrypter but All I got back was a 600 MB VOB file.

I had to post this here instead of a dedicated audio forum to see if there is truely a bug with the big 3 process and DTS audio files.

Well. as far as demuxing your dts track.. you goto ifo mode -> stream processing-> enable stream processing->.. disable all the other streams except the dts track (im sure you did all of this) last important step is to left click the track and check [ ]Demux

then you will have just the dts stream . not enclosed in the vob container

now since 600 mb sounds like its prolly more than 9 mins.. id say its prolly scenaid that is getting the size wrong in the script. drop your dts file that dif4u made into the data area of a empty scenarist project. see what duration it reports it at.. if it reports the correct length.. go back to your other project and find the dts file in the data area.. do data->place holder.. then place holder->data .. that should correct the lentgh there.. then goto the track that its at and extend the time there for the dts audio track to the right length if its needed.

i havent had any problems with audio in the new build

I started a new scenarist project and imported the DTS file. The time length was 2:00:59:12, so that is definately longer than than 9 mins. I guess there is a bug in ScenAid or the importor for Scenarist that is detecting the time length wrong.

One problem solved, now on to the other problem (my other post).

Thanks

I have time to post results. I tried to manually import the file in to Scenarist. The time length of the file was correct (a little over two hours). However, the sound quit after nine or so minutes. The file created during the demux phase is flawed. Which would mean there is an error with one of the programs DoItFast4U v1.4.6 calls. These are the warning messages I get:

Warning The duration of the DTS file "C:\DVDRecode\STARGATE_ULTIMATE_EDITION\VTS01\VTS__01_P01-8A-768K-[-66ms]ms(fixed)-ch5English.DTS" has changed.
Warning The bitrate of DTS file "C:\DVDRecode\STARGATE_ULTIMATE_EDITION\VTS01\VTS__01_P01-8A-768K-[-66ms]ms(fixed)-ch5English.DTS" has changed.

Are there any other programs I can use to extract the DTS file and fix the -66ms delay other that DVD Decrypter. I need to use programs that DIF4U does not call to do some proper testing.

Thanks,
Stiff

before you do that... listen to the ac3 with powerdvd.. see if it is the full length there (and plays past 9 mins) you may have updated the file wrong (from the last set of instructions i left) an easier way to do it would be to copy the offending file.. and clear the offending the file from the track (left click the grey area where the 'data' appears then right click then pick 'clear') this will retain the track in its spot but only empty it. then drop your new copied track in its place from file explorer.. mux and test on computer to see if it works..

as far a your question.. smartripper can do a demux rip and jsotos delay cut will work as a replacement for ac3 correcter.

honestly i dont thing thats the issue tho

Well, I finally got the DTS audio to play all the way through the movie now. I think your right about the fact that Scenarist has trouble reading in the script created by ScenAid. I think it is more of a Scenarist problem because ReAuthorist scripts did the same thing with the DTS audio file.
