View Full Version : BeSweet crashes when converting ogg -> mp3

At first I thought it was just my computer acting weird, so I tried the same thing on another, newer computer but the same thing happened.

Here's the command line used, if that can help any:
"C:\Program\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "C:\Temp\sound.ogg" -output "C:\Temp\sound-New.mp3" ) -ota( -hybridgain ) -lame( -p --alt-preset 128 ) -profile( DSPguru_MP3_for_AVI )

The program says: 'Using Ogg Vorbis v1.0 dlls (http://www.vorbis.com).', and then crashes with a 'forbidden'-error.

first as always the question:

why do you want to convert from good ogg vorbis to bad mp3?

I have nothing personal against ogm (which contained the ogg file), but my computer does. Whenever I try to play an ogm file one or more of video/audio/subs lags behind by 10 or so secs. That's why I'm trying to convert to an avi file and see if it helps...

well than you have an .ogm file (which contains video too) and not an .ogg file
extract the audio stream (can be mp3 too) with virtualdubmod and than try again

I've alreade done that. I'm not that stupid.

try using an mkv instead of ogm.

alternatively, you could always recompress the audio from the original dvd which you OF COURSE have which makes this question kind of pointless, doesnt it?

I'm experiencing the exact same lag with matroska, so that's not an option. And I can't recompress anything because it was never on a dvd...

I also experienced the same issue (Besweet crashing after ogg to mp3 convertion). But I managed to fix this, simply by downloading the dll "libmmd.dll". You can download it here :
http://www.rarewares.org/files/libmmd7.zip
You may also need to download and install OggDS0995.exe (if you don't have it already).
I hope it helps ^_^

Thanks... um... where do I put it?

You must put the dll in the same directory as besweet.exe

Damn! I really had my hopes up for that one, but it didn't work. Too bad.

sorry for the attitude before aznan, had a long day.

might be easier to decompress the ogg file to a wav and use that, will bypass all your problems. also, you might want to get an updated version of ogg from rarewares. libvorbis.dll gt3b2 is what i use, just put it in your besweet directory with libmmd.dll

edit: typo

Thanks for the help everyone, but the thing with the libvorbis.dll didn't work, and it crashes when I try to convert it to wav too...
