Hi Folks,
I'm trying to convert an MPEG-2 video file recorded with Leadtek WinFast TV2000 to DIVX AVI, which was then trimmed using Ulead Video Studio 7. The audio source is MPEG-Layer II 224kb/s, and while I can easily demux this and convert it to MP3 I just keep getting audio sync problems - but it's progressive, as the start of the video is IN sync. Even if I don't demux the audio (keeping the original audio in VirtualDubMod, which ends up as very high bitrate - 835MB for 90 minutes - PCM), it still ends up out of sync at the end of the video by about 250 milliseconds.
I've tried to mux my MP3 back in, and Nandbub tells me the framerate matches the audio file length. So like, if the file is in sync at the start and out of sync at the end but the framerate matches, what's left to do? (Update: I tried changing the framerate to 24 frames per second but this just made the audio realllly out of sync).
I suppose it's possible that my sync problems started with Ulead when I cut the original recording into multiple chunks?
Update: Looks like it is Ulead Video Studio that's caused the problems. My last MPEG file that Ulead generated was already out of sync before I went to convert it to DivX. Needless to say, it's because of some wierd audio error in the source MPEG file. Right now, I'm trying everything I can to cut the audio file down so that BeSweet only transcodes the bits that aren't trashed. Fingers crossed...
P.S. Anyone got any better suggestions for splitting an MPEG file other than ULose Video Studio? Freeware if possible...
