ReAuthorist Preview problem?

Hello all, I've a problem with previewing anything in RA. The little black square just goes grey when I try and preview something. This is annoying, coz I can't see what I getting rid of. I know that there is other ways to tell what is what but I would like to get this fixed. The time slider still moves along as though the movie etc is playing but as I say, I just get a grey square.
Can any of you fine experienced people help a newb out.

jiggle the window. left click on the window, hold it down, and 'jiggle' it :)

my reauthorist just crashes when i try to play anything .. any ideas?
