ScenAid...now what?

Hehe, ok...totally lost. Please don't laugh at me ;) I have run DIF4U, and I am doing this project by VOBID by the way (Toy Story). I chose to run ScenAid, and I generated an SCP file. I am lost on what I am supposed to do now. I have Scenarist 3. Am I supposed to load this SCP file into Scenarist somehow, because it is asking for an SCN file.

Well I don't know how this goes in Scenarist 3, but usually when it starts up, you choose "New From Script" then load the script in the first box and save a SCN in the last box.

Just choose import in scenarist 3.0, and the choose your script file, and give your scenario file a name.

Angle projects are hard for you first project. keep in mind you probably will have to add silence to the end of all the audio files. if they had negative delays.. also you would want to use dvd2avidg with doitfast4u. and you may get errors like (this track has 342.5 fields must be even amounts) or something like that.. i'm going to look at a better way to fix it.. but what i did was just lower the amount of frames of video (in the track editor) for the vobid scenarist bitched about by 1 until it compiled (max i had to do was 2 frames less for a vobid) that error has to have to do with pulldown flags(need to research further)

Trahald, I know this will be tough, but I do like a challenge. I will work very hard at this project until I get it the way I want it. I was wondering if you could tell me more about changing the frames. I have no clue what you are talking about ;) And also how do I make DIF4U use dvd2avidg? Are you on IRC by any chance?

Ok, now I really have no idea what is going on. This time I ran DIF4U and the only VTS I have to reauthor is VTS05, which is of course the main movie. Everything goes fine, and then it opens ScenAid. It says "Finished Scan", and then I generate a script. I close ScenAid, but DIF4U is still open saying it's waiting for ScenAid to finish. What else was ScenAid supposed to do? And then I try loading the script into Scenarist 3, and it looks like it loads most of it, and then Scenarist crashes. I try reopening the scn file which Scenarist made, and it says it can't reopen it because it was created with Version 2 or earlier. So can anyone help me out here? Thanks. Sorry if it sounds like I am rambling...I probably am ;) Just another noob trying to make it.....

what on earth are you rambling about?

anyway, if you dont have the dongle in, scenarist will crash
if you are using some half-assed crack then that's probably your problem

Dongle? Not sure what you are talking about. How would I know if I have the dongle in?

I'm sure you don't have it or you would know! It is a piece of hardware you connect to computer to validate your software.

Your question is kind of funny though :D

If DIF4U opened scenAid it should have started the process on it's own however Lemme check the code as I added that "Finished Scan" message after I added the CLI. I may have forgot to comment that out if the CLI was used causing a hangup.

Also there have been a few reports of the ScenAid window closing but the process still running. I did find a bug though if the Option window was opened, it wouldn't always exit out of ScenAid properly. This has been resolved with the next build

I've been interested in using ScenAid, but I've been unable to find any kind of a good tutorial/guide on how to use it with the big 3. Anyone know of one that could help me out?

It works just like ReAuthorist does :) After DIF4U finishes its stuff, open ScenAid, then click "Browse", and point it to the directory DIF4U demuxed the files to. After ScenAid finishes scanning the files etc., just click "Generate Script." This will result in ScenAid creating a .SCP, which you can then use to import into Scenarist.

Guide/Docs will be coming shortly but as mentioned.. it's basically a replacement for RA for generating the Scenarist Script
