View Full Version : M2V Half Length

Hi,

I rip a vob file to my hard drive using DVD Decrypter, or SmartRipper - but for some DVD's when I play the m2v file in Windows Media Player, it only shows the length as being half what it should be (i.e. a 12 minute video shows as 6 minutes).

The porblem is that when I try to work further with that m2v file, it only outputs half of the original - because it thinks it's half of the length.

If I recode the m2v file using TMPEGEnc to another m2v file, it then works fine - the length is correct (that is to say the data was there on the hard drive, just wouldn't play it).

Anyone any idea what's going on? It's meaning I've got to add an extra time-consuming step to my ripping ..

Thanks

i to have the same problem, but with my *.mpg files, if i have an 10min mpeg in C:\ called x.mpeg and replace it with an 20min mpeg with the same name, WMP display 10min but plays all the way through to the end; if i change the name to x1.mpg, it displays 20min

now that i think of it, it doesn't really seem that we have the same problem.

@dodgy Hi,

Disable "Patch m2v timecode" in ifo/file mode on dvddecrypter.
Or rewrite gop time of m2v file.
BTW, this 's not a "true" problem, dvd2avi will report exact lenght and so avisynth (for cce/tmpeg)
