I've searched and read several threads about ifoupdate and that feature. Only a few things to clarify:
Can this option (when checked) hurt my project?
If yes, how can I check this in order to be certain?
Do you also use the hex-edit method when ifoupdate comes with an error?
n1ck0s.
from what i understand, the latest version of ifoupdate does not require any hex-editing as there should no longer be any errors in this step (famous last words really ;) )
heres what the main man jdobbs had to say on the subject of 'Adjust VTS_TMAPTI and ADMAP Sizes'
Yes. You can leave it on. Here's what it does:
1. If the authored IFO's TMAP table is too long to fit, moves the remainder of the IFO out the number of 2048 byte sectors needed to make it fit.
2. Copies the authored TMAP table into the space it just created.
3. Loops through the offset table in VTSI_MAT and adds the block offset to any entries that fall after the one corrected.
4. Moves the VOBU_ADMAP table -- since it falls at the end of the IFO, it just extends it if it is too long.
5. If the file is not an even multiple of 2048 after the action, it is padded to meet spec.
Since this action changes the size of the VTS's IFO and BUP -- and the length of these files are used in offset calculations, you definitely will have to correct VTS sectors in the event the table is extended. If you have "Autocorrect" on -- it happens anyway.
so honestly i dont think you have anything to worry about checking 'TMAPTI Table Transfer' as long as you also have checked 'Adjust VTS_TMAPTI and ADMAP Sizes'.
hope that helps

My main worries come from the:
3. If the option is checked (not default) it copies the VTS_TMAPTI and VTS_VOBU_ADMAP tables. Please note that care should be used in using this option, in some DVDs copying this table can cause inconsistencies. I added it to help fix a specific problem someone else was addressing, the tables only appear to have an effect when a DVD is played back using PC player software. I don't personally use it. There is also a "Dump" option in which the table pointer is simply changed to "0" so players won't misread the data
This is taken from the readme.txt file of IFOUpdate prog. We are talking about v0.78 right?
okay, well to clarify:
yes we are talking about v0.78.
i was referring to if you had selected to copy 'VTS_TMAPTI and VTS_VOBU_ADMAP tables' that using 'Adjust VTS_TMAPTI and ADMAP Sizes' would solve any possible errors you might get.
as to whether you select to copy the tables, the choice is yours.
from what i understand, it fixes seeking issues on the DVD.
personally i do copy the tables across and have never found any negative impacts from doing so.
