Folks,
On some backups I have spots where disc is freezing. I was able to trace the problem to ISO file (after ripping with DVD decripter 3.1.9) the source doesn't freeze/skip on those scenes. By the way I noticed I have more often got such problems ripping with lite-on combo LTC-4816H, with does discs faster (at around 10x to 14x speed) and none (or maybe seldom) on plextor PX-708A which on average does the discs at 6.5x to 8x speed. I'm not sure if hardware load plays any role as I usually run several tasks at once... might be lite-on malfunctioning or I should look for other firmware for it. To detect defects I usually mount an image with daemon tools and watch with Power DVD at 32x speed. If anything OK I proceed to DVD shrink part if not -- I’ll re-rip the source again.
Any one can suggest a better way to check for the errors and freezes (like running a batch check or another program) rather than manually watching a movie at 32x speed?
Thanks
