Hi,
I would like to integrate mkvmerge in DVX and don't know how to do it for a good user experience. Maybe this poll or some suggestions can get me a better idea. The easiest thing would be maximal two streams, this is how DVX works so far but I'm afraid some users might feel limited

Image based subs are the only real option.

I'm thinking the same. According to my test image based subtitles work very good using vsrip, mkvmerge, vobsub and Zoom Player and it adds only 1,5 MB each subtitle so why bother with ocr

because ocrs output is only some kilobytes long and you can select the font and size you wish

Since mkvmerge can handle image subs, this is the way to go. And I find it hard to believe that you'll notice the quality drop when using 5 mb less for video. It's much more convenient watching subtitles with no errors in them.

why waste 1.5mb if you can have the same with 15kb :D

Text subs are nice you can make them bigger etc without making it look worse. Also it is smaller of course. But usually I prefer the image since I make so many damn mistakes in OCRing the subs. This brings me to another point. Is it not possible to have the computer do the OCR? My scanner does this when I scan say a newspaper article and it is more accurate than I am thats for sure :). There should be something that could do this so you don't have to teach it.

I use Word's spelling checker to fix text subs. Sure it takes some time but it's easy. I never use image subs.

I use both.
Text subs are good for me because I do alot of translating.
Image subs are great when you have really messy looking subs and the OCR is asking you 5 times for the same letter!

Yes that is what I do as well, but 1) It takes a long time and 2) If it is a language which you don't understand totally how are you going to fix it?
