hi sorry for hassle but im new at this as is others.
in scenarist, after importings done and i go to the layout editer, i tick the options and hit start and get this error:
------------------------------------------------------------
Error The track<VTS_01_PGC_01> has place holder.
Error PreCheck From DB failed
Error DVD files could not be created
-------------------------------------------------------------

i've searched the forum, and have found nothing. im trying to reauther Initial D Stage 3

help please, i dont want to use a oneclick solution because i cant keep everthing just to get some type of quality.

also, i just looked in the folder where all the files where stored and noticed that all the other VTS FILES have NOPULL ecl, mpv, vaf files except the one im having the placeholder problem with. is there a way to fix that without having to start over, if not can someone give me somewhat detailed pointers or point me in the right direction on how to do it over right. i followed the big 3 guide completely. mabye this dvd just won't work

thanks in advanced.

hi esso and welcome to the forums!

first thing i would try is to go into your 'data editor' window of scenarist, find the offending track 'VTS_01_PGC_01' and you should notice that the graphic of the movie reel has a arrow on it. right click on this track and select 'place holder>data' and the arrow should dissapear and your problems should be solved.
if not you may have to re-import that track and manually set it up but hopefully the above will solve your problem
hope that helps.

hi J thanks for the welcome.
ok, i went to the data window, did the place holder thing and this is the error scenarist gave me:

Error Can't find file. [C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Bourne\VTS01\VTS__01_P01.P.16~9_1.MPV.M2V]

it seems no matter what movie i make it does this. i just tried last nigt to make bourne identity. and same error with only the 1st pgc. im using all the up to date programs except for cce i dont know if i should be using 2.50 im using 2.6 now. and im using scenarist 2.7. there must be something im doing wrong that every movie has the same problem, and i follow the guide word for word.

Error Can't find file. [C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Bourne\VTS01\VTS__01_P01.P.16~9_1.MPV.M2V]

Hi, notice that CCE usually only outputs .MPV by default (unless it is told to output .M2V), this explains why Scenarist cannot open the file that I have quoted above. Firstly, make sure all of the files of CCE's output are .MPV, if not, remove the .M2V from the file name. Then, if that doesn't work, open up your .SCP (that ReAuthorist / ScenAid creates) file with WordPad, and manually edit that particular line: "VTS__01_P01.P.16~9_1.MPV.M2V" by removing the ".M2V" portion of it. It should then technically import the file properly (but I'm not entirely sure this will work, this is how I would fix the problem anyway) :)
