can this be done? is it possible to get a driver to put itself between the D3D and however it gets out to your screen and dump BMPs/AVIs at 30/60/etc frames a second? i tried googling but came up with waaaay too many results and have no idea where to start...

anyone have suggestions?

hrm .. are there any other programs that do similar? i don't think my computer can keep up with raw uncompressed AVI (yeah i prolly need to delete a bunch of crap and defrag) .. are there any that support changing the codec to say HuffyUV?

You can't change the codec and it is pretty rough on the machine to write an AVI file while playing.

Nothing much more you can do but play with the FPS, size, and write to another HDD.
