Last year I developed a little app for MPEG-2 deep analysis. I´m not a programmer so the app is ugly but works.
This program can:
1- Analize Program Stream structure and parameters
2- Analize Video ES structure and parameters
3- Anlize Audio ES structure and parameters
4- Display a GOP worksheet, like Bitrate Viewer
5- Display baudrate second by second, like Bitrate Viewer
6- Make a compliace test based on parameters in a ini file
If any of you are interested in use, and I hope, improve this progran, I can post in the forum the bin and sources (was compiled using BC++)

First in line here! I've been looking for an alternative to BR Viewer for some time now, since it is not very reliable at reporting BR and quantization on a per frame basis.
You cannot post binaries in the forum but you can upload them to a free personal site.

Look very promissing :)
Do you plan to implement MPEG1 analise, and only video streams analise (m1v, m2v) ? It will be very helpfull.
I must learn how to use this, but it's pretty nice and usefull tool.
Thx.

This tool was developed as a filter pass or no-pass (fail) in the reception of ad insertion material in a CATV network.
As they work only with MPEG-2 i removed MPEG-1 support.
I´m thinking to add elementary stream analysis.
But this tool was no interesting for this forum, so by the moment i´m not planning to upgrading it soon.
We will appreciate any coments,
Thx.
Gabriel
PS: Sorry, my english is horrible!!!

I'm sorry you did not get more interest. BTW, I think it would be nice to have quantization reports on a per frame, per GOP and average basis.

Your tool looks promising, keep going! I second the wish for elementary stream support. The first thing I do with my DVB captures is to correct them and split them into elementary streams at the same time.

I´m trying to compile the Source code using Borland C++ Builder 6.0 Enterprise and when I try to load the *.cpp files it says I´m missing some DFM (form files)....Are the source code incomplete or I´m I doing something wrong ?

Hi,
i have a DVD with scratches. I extracted the M2V-Stream of the movie, which should be coded as a MPEG2-Stream. I wanted to analyze this stream with your tool.
1. It wont open files with the file-ending m2v or mpv
2. When you want to open a file it display only FIles with the file-ending "mpg" but also open Files with the file-ending "mpeg" but does not shot them in the file-Dialog
3. For my DVD-MPEG2-Stream the program said: Wrong Stream (or something like that)
Is there a chance to modify the program to get out this problems? Would you make it Gabrielgoc (or someone other)?

WE WANT ELEMENTARY STREAM SUPPORT!!
Fantastic program btw!
Using it to analyse GOP structures - found no other tool that came close...
Did I mention it would be perfect if it had ELEMENTARY STREAM SUPPORT!! - ;)

Is it too much to ask to be a bit polite? Most people develop stuff here for free in their own free time, so you are not in a position to demand anything. I urge you to read the following post:

Next time you will get a ticket.

Wilbert.... you've totally misunderstood the tone of my post. It wasn't meant to come across as offensive but as an enthusiastic response backing Gabrielgoc's existing intensions
"I´m thinking to add elementary stream analysis."
If you read over my post again you'll realise that I'm actually commending him for a great program
I'm sorry if the light-hearted comments didn't come across to you and I apologise to Gabrielgoc if he has taken it as offensive.
I'll make sure to be less enthusiastic in my typing in future...

Why is this telling me 29.97fps is not mpeg2 compliant?
