Hi-

I'm trying to extract the subtitles from a PGC ripped in IFO mode from DVD decrypter. I need a .srt file to mux into an .ogm container. When I try using VobSub, I can generate a .sub and .idx file but I can't seem to find a program to convert these into .srt format - when I use SubAdjust, I get an error messge telling me that the .sub is corrupted (and even it's own "corrected" .sub file is also corrupted).
So I need to use SubRip, which would be a whole lot easier if I could just get it to open. I have installed version 1.17.1 but wjhen i try to execute the program, i get an error message saying:
Runtime error 216 at 00404002
Does any1 know anything im doing wrong/should be doing ?
Any help/thoughts/ideas aprreciated.

ahh, i seem to have fixed it by turning off Norton Internet Security... I don't think Norton would stop SubRip from running (thats why i dint check it b4 posting) so i guess maybe it was to do with system resources...

thanks anyway folks

I have the same problem. I recently uninstalled Norton Internet Security before installing SubRip. I have Norton SystemWorks 2004 installed however. I disabled Norton Antivirus but the same error still pops up. I'll try in Windows safe mode.

It's not the Norton Antivirus, it must be some other part of those packages. I have NAV on all my machines and never got such a runtime error. ..Don't you think safe mode is a bit overkill and probably won't even help any ..how about just disabling/uninstalling the parts of those packages you don't know that they do/are for..

Well it's not the firewall either, I have that too. But norton can and will sometimes get upset about something totally irrelevant and can be a PITA. Reinstalling subrip and/or norton ought to solve it.

PS:2004 is especially touchy :D
