I want to open an avi file with VitualDub V. 1.5.9(build 18121 release) in order to separate audio and I receipt a message saying: “No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format”.
What can I do to solve this problem?

Okay, first, what format is the audio? If its an mp3, your best bet would be to use nandub. Virtual Dub only supports .wav extensions. You can download nandub in the download section of doom9. If it still doesent work, you dont have the proper codecs. You can also dowload them in the doom9 download section under the name "Gordiam Knot Codec pack". This is very common.;)
