I am interested in getting a field based capture card, but everything I have seen to date is frame based.
TV stations in days of old used to be able to edit material 'to the field' with tape machines. Surely there is now somthing a bit more modern that can use PCs for dealing with fields?
I have some of these old tapes that are field based, and frame based devices always like to keep the fields in order (AB AB etc) so a missed field (AB AB A AB AB etc) always causes a dropped frame. (ie: the tape was edited so the new material started halfway through a frame - but on the field boundary)
