i know, forum rules #9 (Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention), i'm not trying to draw attention, it's just easier for me to type like that, strike me if you must.

this should be in the tmpgenc forum, but i'm not going to wait for the mod to reply.

getting to it; you may have guessed it, i'm ripping utena the movie, the title kind of sums it up; i'm doing a manually ivtc(111111100) using tmpgenc, the movie has 151656 frames(29.97fps), with ivtc its becomes 242644 frames(23.976fps), i might not have a vash knowledge about everything, but doesn't ivtc post to lower the frame count? and what i'm i doing wrong?

before anybody ask, yes i'd force film it with dvd2avi nothing.

151,656 * 4/5 = ~121,325

151,656 * 4/5 * 2 = ~242,650

You've got very close to twice as many frames as you want. I think you've doubled the number of frames somehow.

I haven't done manual patterns in TMPGEnc (I've only set patterns via the GUI), but in my experience IVTC in TMPGEnc does frame doubling. You need to select four frames from every ten candidates. I think you've selected 8.

But please take my statements with a grain of salt. I could easily be mistaken.
