Creating Scene Selection In Dvd Maestro

Does anybody know of an easy way to create Scene Selection Menus in DVD Maestro?

Do I have to make 1 image for each Scene Selection Screenshot I have?

Is there any program or other way to make the scene selection screenshots easier, without having to capture the image of each scene I want to use in a scene selection screenshot?

If you have a MAC, then Apple DVD Studio Pro 2 does this automatically when you drag an asset into the menu editor. As you probably already know, DVD SP2 is actually based on Spruce DVDMaestro anyway.

If you don't have a MAC, then you could try using Canopus Edius 2, which can edit MPEG natively within the timeline, and could, I assume, easily use a PIP (Picture-In-Picture) filter to make a menu composite with your MPEG streams forming the (eventual) 'scene selection button' images. This could then be exported to a single MPEG2 stream and imported into Maestro and dragged into the menu editor, with button highlights then overlaid on the PIP streams.

Main Concept are also promising a 'Pro' version (http://www.mainconcept.com/upcoming_products.shtml) of their MPEG encoder module for Premiere 7 users, which is also aimed at allowing the native editing of MPEG streams within the Premiere 7 timeline environment. In this instance, you could follow the same procedure I described above for Edius 2.

Ulead Media Studio Pro may also be able to do this, but I'm not completely up to date with Media Studio Pro, so you'd have to check this for yourself.

Frame serving to Virtual Dub might also be an option, but this might be a lot less elegant a solution.
