Hi, I followed doom9 guide:
PVAStrimento->mpeg2schnitt, then I have inserted the trimmed mpv into scenarist and it says:
Error G:\genesis_trim.mpv
Error : Picture resolution(544 x 576) is wrong.
Error : Number of fields (48) in GOP(# 23) or between sequence_header_code should be equal or smaller than 30.
what can i do?
I have also used the option in PVAStrumento
"Packet size 2048 bytes (PC,DVD)"
should i try spomething else?

Use dvdpacher to patch only first header
www.kickme.to\dvdpatcher
settings are following
in upper part window notice bitrate
in lower window use custom bitrate and retype this value
use 720 for width and patch only first header not whole file
KEEP backup of file
it should parse scenarist check becuase
same check is done by REELdvd and Producer
also from sonic and they accept that patched files without problems
PS if you use scenarist for subtitles
implementation this resolution 544x576 you must make
bitmaps with that resolution 544x576 not 720x576
in pvs set unconstain packet size
and you have lot of errors in recording
which app you use for recording?

it shouldn't have to give you that kind of
errors
Have you try dvbmagic(dvbdream) or mytheatre
I usualy use progdvb for recording and don't have
more then 1 error with gop error which pvastrumento
2.1 release candidate6 can't handle but only in demux
mode I think that program stream mode do not work well
If you use scenarist for adding subtitles in project
give a chance to dvdproducer by sonic too
it is much flexible then scenarist and accept
subtitles in both formats as bmp's like scenarist
and like text script
(subtitle workshop - sonic scenarist format)
less work for same result
work with unicode or custom ansi characters
you can inwoke mpg not only demyxed files ac3 accepted
it have advantage over scenarist becuase it is much easier to use
and more flexible import almost all usual functions
like in scenarist included same number of audio streams
and same number of subtitle streams pro tool in one word

Can i upload somewhere a pva file i recorded from RFM tv on Hotbird?
Can you check if recording from RFM, you can still import the mpv stream into scenarist?
i still get
Error : Number of fields (48) in GOP(# 27) or between sequence_header_code should be equal or smaller than 30.

You have problem that pvas did not
closed gop with number of frames more
then alowed if you have original recording
try demux with pvas 2.1 release candidate 6
or if you don't try to remux with tmpegenc
file>mpeg tools>simple remux
then to demux with pvastrumento it should
correct this error. Usualy packet size have
not influence ot authoring proccess but for
this procedure put DVD packet size
With uncolsed gop with 48 pictures
you have not chance to import asset
in scenarist becuase it have strict checking
of any file and no errors accepted
change dvd authoring app
use dvd producer or if you do not need
subtitles dvdlab www.dvdlab.net
scenarist like app
mentioned app above have relaxed standards
and can accept those files dvdlab is about 11MB
PS I found some file I have recorded with unclosed gop
with 42-45 gops in five places in file I just corected file
like I describe above patched header and scenarist
accepted file without problems and do not try to reencode it
I hope that some of this can help you to solve your problem
Some files just "do not want to be corected"
