no..dont want to make a svcd..
i have an mpeg4.avi and several idx/sub-subtitles of different language..my problem is to have it all burnt to cd and still be able of alternativly choosing one of them..
it appears that they must have the exact same filename as the movie-file and must be in the same directory what is a little problem..
sry if thats stated elsewhere, but i searched and wasnt able to find an answear..

You can transmux your AVI in a lossless process ( kind of 'repacking' from one container to another, the video data stay untouched ) into a MKV ( matroska video ) file with mkvmerge/mmg (http://mkvmerge.matroska.org) , and your vobsubs also ..... any good DirectShow based player ( mPC, TCMP, Zoomplayer, BSplayer, etc. ) will be able to play these files after you install the matroska playback pack (http://packs.matroska.org), and you have it all in one nice file with the extension .mkv .
The subtitles can be activated with a simple right click in most players, and if you assign the correct language tags to the vobsubs during muxing in mmg, it will allow you to choose the language you want for playback ( works even with crappy Windows Mediaplayer ) ...

If you're using VobSub/VSfilter for subtitle playback then you can name them "movie.english.idx", "movie.english.sub", "movie.french.idx", "movie.french.sub" etc. You'll be able to switch between them using VobSub menu.
