Learned Colleagues:

Wondering if it's me or what...

Although I've had a Sony +/- burner for sometime, I've been a "-" guy since day one. Last night, a buddy brought over some DVD+RWs to get copies of soccer videos so for the first time, I burned some "+" discs. Even though I was burning at 1X, it slowed my system down incredibly, much more so than even burning "-" discs at 4X.

Is this normal? If so, I'm glad I'm a negative kind of person.

I thought the minimum burning speed for + discs was 2.4x.

Sounds like a firmware bug, preventing your drive to work in DMA mode with DVD+ media. That is a weird bug...

Could have burned at 2.4X which would make sense based on the degree of system slow down. I know that I had RecordNow set to 1X, but it might default to the minimum speed. These were RWs.
