My problem is that whenever I capture video with my tv tuner card, upon playback my audio stutters several times throughout the capture. This stuttering ultimately results in the audio and video to become out of sync with each other. I have had this problem for over 2 years and I have not been able to find the solution.
Here is what I have tried so far: I have tried Iuvcr, Virtualdub, and some other capture software with WDM and VFW drivers, all have resulted the same problem. I used all the recommended codecs for video capture (mjpeg) and audio (pcm) too. I disabled the sound card and used my onboard audio, no help. I have even tried just to record audio from my walkman using the line in, still stuttered.
Recently I upgraded my comp expecting everything to work, I was wrong. The only thing I did not upgrade was the soundcard and Tv tuner since I thought I eliminated them as being the problem (I expected the MB as the culprit). After the upgrade I still have the stuttering problem. Has anyone else heard of this problem? Are there any known software conflicts that I should know of? I would appreciate any suggestions? I hope this makes sense. Please help!
My specs: 2500 barton, geforce fx 5900, hauppauge 401 tv tuner, muse xl sound card, asus a7n8x-e MB, 1gig of ram, 120 and 60 hard drives.
