View Full Version : No sound after remuxing with IFOEdit

Hello,

I am trying to re-author a movie with just one audio track.
I used VOBEdit to demux the VOB's and I now have one m2v file (4.5GB) and one ac3 (English - 6ch) audio track (about 300M). They both play separately in Media Player Classic.

The problem is that when I remux them back (using the Re-Author menu in IFOEdit), I don't get the audio. The IFO's that IFOEdit produces have no audio entries either.
I don't get an error during the process. IFOEdit runs as usual and produces the VOB's and the IFO's, but no audio. I should probably mention that I also add the Celltimes.txt file when I remux.

The sum of the VOB's sizes is 4.5GB and not 4.8 as I was expecting.

I used these procedures before (different backups) and I got the DVD file structure succesfully.

Any clue as to what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: After a lot of googleing, I downloaded and installed an AC3 filter. Now, Media Player can play the AC3 file, but neither IFOEdit nor DVD Author seem to be able to remux the file.

DVD Author GUI puts the following in the log:

DVDAuthorgui 0.5.2 - 2/22/2004

I have got the same problem here.
I have a m2v and ac3 file and want to create a dvd with IfoEdit 0.96(Author new DVD).
After IfoEdit has finished the job (no errors), I end up with a vob set without sound.

I have done the procedure with other films without trouble.

Where is the mistake?

Thank you for any help.

I found out (the hard way) that this happens if the AC3 stream has errors. I corrected it with BeSweet, but now my sound is delayed towards the end of the movie.

BeSplice/BeSplit (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Audio/BeSlicedv0.2.zip) did the trick for me.
Apparently the ac3 stream had errors.
BeSplice fixed the errors.
The authoring with IfoEdit works fine now.
IfoEdit doesn't ignored the ac3 stream anymore.

Problem solved. :)
