Nero 6 ac3 question

Does Nero 6 support ac3 tracks? because i was editing a video in NeroVision and the audio in audio properties had PCM greyed out. The format is 5.1 channel Dolby Surround, nad i want to know if it was encoded if it would still be full ac3 Dolby digital. I have all Mpeg2 plugins installed and i am running nero 6.3. Thanks!

O and also when i play back the file ( its an avi ) the volume is SUPER low.
