Hi all,

I'd been getting a pretty noisy signal to the composite in of my MSI TV@nywhere master, so I tried upgrading to a S-Video input from a S-VHS VCR. The noise cleaned up a lot, but unfortunately there were a lot of horizontal lines in the signal, especially in the chroma...
it basically looks as if alternate scanlines are light/dark, though that's not quite it (as SeparateFields shows) - the lines are very slightly diagonal.

I've chased the problem round in circles and read round on the forum and I'm pretty sure it's the VCR, which is a Panasonic NV-SV-120EB-S. So (hopefully) I'm going to return it and get another make... but I'd prefer not to hit the same problem again. Can anyone recommend a VCR (PAL, available in the UK) with an S-Video output which doesn't have this problem?

thanks,
Mohan
