I want to create a DVD that has multiple playback options.

Basically, I want to put 5 or 6 near full-length movies on a single DVD-5. Each movie would consist of about 20% unique footage, while the remaining 80% would be shared footage that all of the movies would use.

Example:
Title01 = Vid01 -> Vid02 -> Vid03A -> Vid04 -> Vid05 -> Vid06 -> Vid07 -> Vid08A -> Vid09 -> Vid10
Title02 = Vid01 -> Vid02 -> Vid03B -> Vid04 -> Vid05 -> Vid06 -> Vid07 -> Vid08B -> Vid09 -> Vid10
Title03 = Vid01 -> Vid02 -> Vid03C -> Vid04 -> Vid05 -> Vid06 -> Vid07 -> Vid08C -> Vid09 -> Vid10
etc...

I assume the following:
Each video clip will require it's own VOB ID.
Each playback sequence will require its own PGC.
I'll need to create a menu and its PGC from scratch.

Keeping in mind that my budget doesn't allow for premium authoring software, what software can I use to create the required IFO's.

By the way, I also don't know how to build menus from scratch.

Thanks for any help.

After looking around some more another post caught my eye about seamless branching. I'll read further posts about this before posting again.

By the way, the thread I read was very unpleassant in the way everyone was tlaking to each other.

If anybody has any ideas on how I could use IFOedit for seamless branching, let me know.

Thanks for any help.

If the "unique footage" is of exactly the same length for all the movies, you could just use multiple angles. Then add a precommand to the PGC that selects the desired angle.

But multi-angle will require to reencode the video to a lower bitrate and it may not be seamless when it tries to change angles. I'd just do it the same way the guide said for Terminator 2. But that's just me.
