So yeah, I was trying out MagicISO to create a DVD ISO from my AUDIO_TS + VIDEO_TS dirs created from Maestro. Well, turns out I saved the iso using the ISO9660 stanard... not the UDF standard. I did a lot of work on the movie and mastering session, but was hasty and deleted my maestro save file. :(

So tell me. I still have this ISO on my computer. If I burn it, will the burning software automatically convert it to UDF standard? Because I did burn it and it plays okay, but I have an Apex, and that sucker plays just about everthing. So tell me, does the burning software convert it to UDF? Or, did it simply burn a non-compliant DVD and thus it remains in ISO9660 format?

Second question: If the worst case scenario occurred, and the burning software doesn't convert the iso, can I simply deconstruct my iso (daemon tools + dvd decryptor) back to my VIDEO + AUDIO dirs, and then re-make it to UDF standard?

 I'm just so pissed because I spend probably 15 hours on this... and I don't want to have to do it all over again.

Don't worry, it'll be fine. Stick your disk into DVD drive, right-click on it in Windows Explorer and check the properties. If it says UDF, you're all set. If it says CDFS (i.e. ISO9660), copy all the files to hard drive and burn another DVD in UDF mode.

Thanks. That's what I did. I used ISOBUSTER which is really darn handy it seems, extracted, and then re-imaged with another program into UDF/ISO. :D

maybe not helpful but UDF and ISO9660 burned DVDs play fine on my JWin player. Best to be on the safe side I guess :)

Na, as long as you got a UDF filesystem on there, it doesn't matter what others are on there. Using the "OLD" version of instant CD+DVD, which could make iso images (the new one is all gui'd to hell and either I can't figure it out, or they removed the functionality) it would add ISO9660 + UDF + WIN? (I know there were three filesystems on there). No problems at all. You only run into problems if you "don't" have UDF on there, which was my problem when I used MagicISO :(

I normally just use ImgTool Classic to create my ISO. Never had any issues so that's what I would recommend ;)
