View Full Version : Question about DoCCE4U (big 3 guide)

Hi,

I was following the guide to do a backup of a NTSC DVD (aprr. 7,5GB) with the big 3.
In this guide, I came to the point were it says:

'If you're dealing with an NTSC project you can skip these proceedings.'

Does this means I dont have to change anything in DoCCE4U, because I am dealing with a NTSC Disc?

Thing is:
I checked the jobs (.m2v files)in DoCCE4U with bitrate viewer, as suggested in the guide and was noticing, that in DoCCE4U the jobs have a checkmark at 'progressive' and bitrateviewer says 'interlaced'. I also checked with DVD2Avi and its realy interlaced.
Don't I have to change this in DoCCE4U , because I am dealing with NTSC?
And DoCCE4U also has a checkmark at 'Top field first' and bitrateviewer says Field "Topfirst: 'No'".
Birate viewer also says "scantype: Alternate". Do I have to check that in DoCCE4U?

I dont want to make a mistake now, so that I have to encode everything again.

I noticed something else now also: The main movie (3 passes, all extras 5 passes) is not showing up in DoCCE4U, why is that?
In ReAuthorist it is and checked.

Please help me out,

Thanks.

wow! registered since 2001 and this is your first post?
anyways, from what i understand (i am in PAL land and have only reauthored a few NTSC discs) if you have 'Autodetect NTSC VIdeo Type' seleceted in the main window, then your .avs scripts (and subsequently the settings passed onto DoCCE4U) should be spot on.
You should also have 'invert field order in filenames (DoCCE4U compatible)' selected in your 'other options' of DIF4U.
I noticed something else now also: The main movie (3 passes, all extras 5 passes) is not showing up in DoCCE4U, why is that? depends on the way you went about your process.
make sure you have the same settings selected in DIF4U, then start up DoCCE4U, clear all jobs, then go to 'File' 'load file list' and navigate to your 'CCEData.txt that was created by DIF4U and see if that fixes things.
hope that helps

The settings in CCE should match your OUTPUT settings. Therefore, your video was interlaced or telecined and DIF4U detected this and added the correct script to convert it to progressive. DoCCE is therefore correct in setting CCE to progressive, as that is what the video will be when it is output.

As for the main movie not being encoded, DO NOT USE SPACES IN THE FOLDER/FILENAMES (search the knowledgebase before posting please, this question is definitely answered in there). I don't know how many times I am going to have to repeat this to people. It's a no-no in computerland. Why in God's green earth ol' Billy Gates decided "Program Files" was a good name for a folder is beyond me, and most of the rest of the development community. In any other OS it's a no-no, and it causes issues in this one too.
